Like our patron, St. Francis Xavier, we are called to go forth into the world to be witnesses of the Gospel.
The Companions of St. Francis Xavier Service and Immersion Program is a longstanding Xavier tradition that gives students the opportunity to do just that—to live out the Ignatian call to be men for others.
Known by the Xavier community simply as CFX, thousands of students, faculty, staff, and alumni have volunteered portions of their summers to engage in various service trips. Founded on the cornerstones of community, simplicity, prayer, and service, these trips provide students with a communal experience of Church as a center of reflection and prayer while working and engaging with those most in need. Many students have found these service trips to be incredible, life-changing, and exciting experiences in which they have learned new skills, ministered to wonderful people, made new friends, and grown closer to God.
