Why did you choose Xavier?

I chose Xavier because of the community and the opportunities it offers. I knew Xavier was the place I wanted to be after how loving and welcoming the community was at the Open House during my seventh-grade year. I truly feel like I have a sense of belonging on 16th Street. The opportunities I've had at Xavier have helped me grow in ways I never thought I would be able to. The ability to meet and befriend people with all types of backgrounds and cultures is a blessing. Each opportunity I have at Xavier helps me be a true man for others.

In what extracurricular activities are you involved?

I am on the football and rugby teams. These teams have allowed me to be a part of something bigger than myself and learn about sacrifice and commitment. The bonds I have made with my teammates will be with me for the rest of my life. In addition to athletics, I am also involved in several clubs and activities, including the Irish-American Society, leading retreats, Student Leadership Council, and the National Honor Society––where I serve as vice president for service. I am grateful for all of these activities, and I have learned so much through them. I have learned so much about myself and others through my involvement in extracurricular activities. They have taught me to pursue excellence in all endeavors.

What are your favorite subjects?

My favorite subjects are history and Latin. I enjoy learning about American history as well as world history. It is important to know our history so we can learn from our mistakes to make the world a better place. My history teachers have all pushed me to be the best student and man that I can be. Latin has enhanced my vocabulary and my knowledge of Greek mythology. My Latin class has stayed the same for my entire four years and I am grateful for the brotherhood we have created.

How do you feel Xavier has prepared you for life outside of 16th Street?

Xavier has instilled in me a desire to never stop learning and to love others. Loving others and always wanting to learn will help me transform the world for the greater glory of God and set the world on fire.
