Drama at Xavier

"We know what we are, but know not what we may be,” William Shakespeare once wrote.

On the stage with Xavier’s drama department, students learn all about what they may be. Through both in-class curriculum and extracurricular productions each spring and fall, students learn the fundamentals of drama, acting for both film and the stage, and—thanks to state-of-the-art equipment in Fernandez-Duminuco hall—production management.

Recent productions have included Sweeney ToddThe Importance of Being Earnest, The Apocalypse Project, Eurydice, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, and Frankenstein.

Xavier Dramatics Society has been a huge part of my Xavier experience. I was welcomed into an incredibly warm, kind, and loving community. I have also had the opportunity to grow as a performer, student, and person alongside amazingly talented castmates and directors.Colin DeMatteo '22
