Drama at Xavier

"We know what we are, but know not what we may be,” William Shakespeare once wrote.

On the stage with Xavier’s drama department, students learn all about what they may be. Through both in-class curriculum and extracurricular productions each spring and fall, students learn the fundamentals of drama, acting for both film and the stage, and—thanks to state-of-the-art equipment in Fernandez-Duminuco hall—production management.

Recent productions have included Eurydice, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Frankenstein , The Mousetrap, and Something Rotten!

Xavier Dramatics Society helped me turn my appreciation for theatre and acting into a passion. Each rehearsal, sitzprobe, and performance was a chance to improve upon all that I'd learned and make it my own. I will always be grateful for the trust I was given, and the time that was spent to make our performances as great as they could possibly be.Harrison O'Callaghan ’17
