Since 1850, Xavier has made its home at 30 West 16th Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenues.

Located two blocks from Union Square Park in Manhattan's Chelsea neighborhood, Xavier is easily accessible by a variety of public transportation options.

Xavier students commute to 16th Street each day from across New York City, Westchester, Long Island, and New Jersey, taking the L, M, F, N, R, Q, A, C, E, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, or the PATH Train to 14th Street. The Fifth, Sixth, Seventh, and Park Avenue South buses stop near Xavier as well.

Many students from New Jersey and Long Island travel into Penn Station, and students from Westchester travel into Grand Central Terminal and then make their way to 16th Street.

Find the train or bus nearest you on the MTA (subway, bus, Metro-North, and/or LIRR), NJ Transit, or PATH websites. Those traveling to Xavier by car have various parking options in nearby garages or on local streets.

Knight for a Day

We offer Knight for a Day visits to eighth-graders. Knight for a Day, our student shadowing program for eighth-graders, immerses applicants in the daily life of a Xavier student each fall and winter. Each Knight for a Day will be paired with a current freshman, attend classes and interact with teachers and students, and enjoy lunch in Hurtado Hall (Xavier will provide you with a lunch voucher).
