For Incoming Students

Thanks to the generosity of alumni, current and past parents, and friends of Xavier, we are able to provide more than $4.2 million in tuition assistance to families in need for the 2022-2023 academic year.

Xavier is committed to making a Jesuit education possible for all students regardless of financial circumstances, and we will try our best to meet the expressed need of every family. We partner with FACTS to process all financial aid applications. Dates and Deadlines for 2022-23 for Enrollment in Fall 2023:

Oct. 18: FACTS financial aid application opens for prospective students.
Dec. 1: FACTS financial aid application deadline for prospective students.
Dec. 8: Deadline for FACTS to receive all supporting documentation
Jan. 18: Financial aid decisions are mailed with your admissions decision

Financial Aid for Incoming Students

Before you start your application...

Review the FAQs below carefully, particularly if you own a business, are a single parent, there are multiple households, and/or parents are legally divorced or separated.
Adhering to the FACTS financial aid application deadline of December 1 is essential, so that Xavier can make the financial aid award process fair and equitable. You must submit the application by December 1 and FACTS must receive all supporting materials by December 8 for your son to receive consideration for need-based financial aid.
Do not assume your son is going to earn a merit scholarship. If you you truly believe that you cannot afford the full cost of tuition, please file a financial aid application through FACTS.
If you need the FAQs provided to you in a language other than English or Spanish, please contact the Admissions Office at admissions@xavierhs.org.
Families with a currently enrolled Xavier student(s) in their freshman, sophomore, or junior year must apply for the entire family at the same time using your 2021 tax information by December 1, 2022. In addition, please upload to FACTS copies of all 2022 tax information by April 7, 2023, so the Financial Aid Committee can make an award for your currently enrolled son(s). PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT A SEPARATE FACTS APPLICATION IN THE SPRING. PLEASE DO NOT EMAIL THE DOCUMENTATION TO STEVE NOGA or to FACTS.

When you apply...

Review the FACTS Quick Guide Worksheet in English or Spanish. An updated Quick Guide will be released in late August.
Gather the following documents, if applicable:
- A complete copy of your 2021 FEDERAL tax return including all related schedules (e.g., Schedule 1, A, C, and E), and, if applicable, business tax return, including K-1s, Form 1065, Form 1120, and Form 1120S.
- A copy of all your relait all applicable schedules from your FEDERAL return, and if applicable, FEDERAL business tax returns, includingted 2021 W2 and/or 1099 for all jobs worked. You must submit a copy of the original documents, not the Summary of W2s from the NY STATE return. If you are self-employed and do not receive a W2 or 1099, please make sure you submit K-1s, Form 1065, Form 1120, and Form 1120S.
- Two most-recent paystubs for all jobs worked in 2022 (this may not applied to families who are self-employed or are business owners). If you are receiving Social Security, unemployment, or disability compensation, you will need to submit a copy of the most recent stubs.
- A copy of your most recent mortgage statement, home equity statement, or rent receipt.
- Support documentation for receipt of SNAP, TANF, or Section 8 housing assistance.
- Documentation regarding child support––court documents or cancelled check copy.
- PLEASE NOTE: Xavier High School does reserve the right to have a family request a transcript of a family's tax return directly from the IRS and then submit that transcript to Xavier High School's Financial Aid Committee. This is not a required step; Xavier's Financial Aid Committee will contact you if they wish to request that document.
Review the Financial Aid Policies FAQs for 2023-2024 for Incoming Families in English or Spanish (this will be released in late August). It is particularly important to review if there are more than one household, if you are a single parent, if you are self-employed, or if one parent does not work.
Click on the following image to register for a FACTS account and start your application. For families who already have a FACTS account through Xavier, please use your existing account.
Complete and submit your FACTS application online. You have the option to complete the online application in English or Spanish. If you have any questions about the FACTS application itself, please call FACTS at 866-441-4637.
Once you submit the FACTS application, double check your email for a confirmation from FACTS, which will include a list of all required supporting documents you must submit. Documents can be submitted in pdf or jpeg format.
FACTS must receive all requested documentation by December 8, 2022. Please follow the directions in the email from FACTS on how to submit all supporting documentation. Do not fax and never email the tax information, either to FACTS or to Xavier High School. Please do not erase all SSNs from all financial documents.
For financial aid applications filed on time, notice of the Financial Aid Committee's decision will be email on January 18, 2023 along with the Admissions Decision.
