Since 1847, Xavier has provided a rigorous, Jesuit, Catholic education—focused on cultivating critical thinking, spiritual development, and self-discipline—to young men from across New York City, Westchester, Long Island, and New Jersey. We hope to see you forging your own path on 16th Street, walking out of St. Patrick’s Cathedral alongside your Xavier brothers at graduation, and–like generations before you–coming to know 16th Street as your lifelong second home.

Sons of Xavier often speak of what they learn about themselves during their commutes, in the classroom, or on the field. Some speak of taking intellectual risks in their math or Latin classes; others discuss athletic or artistic interests they discovered on 16th Street. Nearly all mention profound relationships with their teachers—passionate educators who challenge them to broaden and deepen their intellectual and spiritual horizons. To me, what it means to be a Son of Xavier is to be someone who is part of a larger community than oneself, where people struggle and triumph together. Whether it be sports, the arts, the academics, or the extracurriculars, each person has a separate place to be and Xavier belongs to everybody.
