Presidential Search

Dear Parents, Guardians, Faculty, Staff, Friends, and Sons of Xavier:
I arrived at Xavier in 2009 with a deep feeling of consolation. It is with great gratitude for our work together and the same feeling of consolation that I share with you my decision to step down as president of Xavier in June 2027.
The work of Xavier is an extensive partnership. You—students, parents, alumni, faculty, family, staff, Jesuits, coaches and friends of Xavier—have been the best of partners to me. You have been wise counsel, supportive family members, courageous friends, fine colleagues, models of faith and witnesses to the gospel. You have constantly invited me into a world “charged with the grandeur of God.” A world where Christ indeed plays each and every day “in 10,000 places, lovely in limbs and lovely in eyes not his, to the Father through the features of men’s faces.” In the Chapel of Our Lady and on the F train, at Icahn and Aviator, in Keenan Commons and the Gannon STEAM Room, Fernandez-Duminuco Hall and the Tirelli Quad. In places near and far.
Thank you for your partnership.
My departure is two years away. We are sharing this news today so the board has ample time to do a good search. I am confident they will find a wonderful president for Xavier and equally confident our next president will find you to be great partners in the work.
I look forward to continuing the work of Xavier with you over the next two years and, when the time comes in the spring of 2027, to celebrating our work together.
I close with deep thanks to our board chair, Paul Enright ’91, and to the entire Board of Trustees. Paul has been the best of partners in this work, and my work with the board is a grace beyond measure. I remain deeply grateful for the board’s service and partnership.
I ask for your prayers for me and for Xavier. Be assured of my prayers for you.
Sincerely,
Jack Raslowsky
President
