Xavier Clubs and Student Activities Enter A New Era
One of the changes to this year’s schedule has been the introduction of the community period, which is a block within the academic day allocated for club meetings, student life meetings and the like. Ms. Johanna Tanzman, director of student activities and faculty member in the Science and Technology Department, discusses the importance of student life and student activities, and the increased focus on these programs at Xavier High School.

Faces of Xavier: Eamonn Matthews '15
In the halls of 30 West 16th Street, the beginning of each year brings new changes. One of the most noteworthy changes this year has been the introduction of a new academic schedule. This eight-day schedule replaces the six-day schedule of years prior, and it includes two class days that consist of four 75-minute classes. The E-News has caught up with Eamonn Matthews ’15 to talk about the new schedule.
