Sons of Xavier Flock Home for Reunion
More than 500 alumni and guests flooded 16th Street for Reunion 2017, strengthening old bonds and creating new ones.
For the first time, reunion festivities were spread across two weekends. On April 28, the Golden Knights Luncheon welcomed dozens of alumni from the Classes of 1966 and back. That evening, members of the 5th-25th reunion classes enjoyed a reception in Keenan Commons. The next day, April 29, members of the 30th-45th, 55th and 60th reunion classes returned to Xavier. Each reunion class enjoyed the opportunity to attend Mass and a tour of Xavier’s new academic building, Fernandez-Duminuco Hall.
On May 4, 5, and 6, members of the 50th reunion class of 1967 came together to celebrate. Several alumni from the class enjoyed a golf outing on Thursday, followed by a large reception at Villa Mosconi in Greenwich Village on Friday and a gala dinner at Xavier on Saturday.
“The 50th reunion is always our marquee event, and this year was no different,” said Director of Alumni Relations Zane Massey ’96. “The love each of our alumni has for Xavier was palpable at the 50th and throughout our two reunion weekends. I am so grateful to all of them for coming together to celebrate our bonds as Sons of Xavier.”
