Community Flocks to Summer Receptions

From Rockaway to Belmar, Xavier’s summer tour has been a success, reuniting alumni, parents, and friends at informal gatherings.

The tour began in Belle Harbor, Rockaway, on July 12, at a beautiful reception hosted by Joanie and George Clark P’16 and catered by Buckley’s of Brooklyn. Dozens of alumni, parents, administrators, and a large group of incoming freshmen came out for an enjoyable evening. The following week, the college barbecue at Xavier brought college-aged alumni back to 16th Street, and the Belmar reception reunited alumni and friends on the beautiful Jersey Shore. Colleen and Rob Thorburn ’93 graciously hosted the Belmar event.

“So far, our summer receptions have been wonderful gatherings of families and alums from a variety of class years in a variety of locations," said Director of Alumni Relations Zane Massey '96. "It’s great to know that over the summer, alumni still want to be connected and a part of the Xavier community."

The tour continues in Quogue on August 25, Westport, Massachusetts, on August 26, Cape Cod on August 27, and back home at Xavier for our “Summer Sunset” on August 31. We look forward to seeing you there!
