Rev. Daniel Gatti, S.J. '59 Honored at Golf Outing

More than 80 golfers gathered at Knickerbocker Country Club in Tenafly, New Jersey, on June 21 for the 32nd Annual Xavier Golf Outing presented by Paul J. Scariano, Inc. Knickerbocker’s beautiful course and clubhouse served as the perfect backdrop as Xavier honored its former President, Rev. Daniel Gatti, S.J. ‘59, with the Rev. William J. McGowan, S.J. Spirit Award.

Previous winners of the prize include Knickerbocker Country Club member and Pulitzer Prize-winning sportswriter Dave Anderson ’47, former USA Eagles coach Mike Tolkin '85 and the 1985 national championship rugby team, the 1993 national championship rugby team, head basketball coach and CHSAA Hall of Famer Joe McGrane, head football coach Christopher Stevens ’83, and Xavier’s two 1,000-point scorers on the hardwood, Edward P. Gooding ’78 and Kevin P. Crockett ’14.
