Drill Team Travels to National Championships

Thirteen students traveled to the National High School Drill Team Championships last weekend, joining more than 2,000 cadets from around the country at the elite competition.

Accompanied by Senior Army Instructor LTC Jacob Kelly, USA (Ret.) and MSG Clifford Stein, USA (Ret.), members of the drill team competed in both team and individual events at the championships in Daytona Beach, Florida. Most teams are invited to participate, but Xavier automatically qualifies each year because of its long record of excellence.

“Xavier has done so well in the past that we have a standing invitation to go every year," Kelly said.
