Wilbur Ross '55 Confirmed as Commerce Secretary 

The Senate confirmed investor Wilbur Ross '55 as Secretary of Commerce on February 27.

A specialist in distressed businesses and leveraged buyouts, Ross is a New Jersey native who captained the rifle team during his time on 16th Street. After graduating from Xavier, he earned degrees at Yale University and Harvard Business School.

Upon entering government service, Ross will divest from WL Ross & Co., the successful private equity firm he founded.
