Wilbur Ross '55 Nominated as Commerce Secretary

Wilbur Ross '55, a specialist in distressed businesses and leveraged buyouts, is President-elect Donald Trump's pick to head the Commerce Department. "Wilbur Ross is a champion of American manufacturing and knows how to help companies succeed," Trump said in a statement.

After Ross's years on 16th Street, where he captained the rifle team, the New Jersey native attended Yale University and Harvard Business School. He is the chairman and chief strategy officer at WL Ross & Co., LLC. He was profiled in Xavier Magazine last fall.
