Robotics Team Excels at Regional Tournament

By Mr. Chiafulio

This year, Xavier Robotics entered two teams in the NY/NJ Botball Autonomous Robotics Tournament.  One of the teams, led by Shane Crockett ’16, Marc Suda ’16, and Anthony Cirelli ’16 took home Second Overall and the Top Judges’ Choice award for a drive system that was built to mirror the Rocker-bogey system on the Mars Science Lab. The other Xavier team led by Kasper Grispino ’16 and Chris Noble ’16 took home Third Overall and won a Judges’ Choice award for engineering because of their counter weight system designed by Matt Ingenito ’16. Next year, the robotics team will move into the new STEAM Room in Fernandez-Duminuco Hall.

The two Xavier teams faced one another in the finals of the head to head tourney. Here is a video link of that matchup.
