JROTC Awards Honor Cadets
By Nick Byrne '11
Across the nation, the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) program is celebrating its 100th anniversary in many ways.
The Xavier Regiment became a JROTC unit in 1935, and its legacy lives on in its modern incarnation.
At the spring JROTC awards ceremony, hosted on May 10, the Xavier community honored Regimental and individual excellence.
Cadets were praised for their academic and leadership achievements, and the Regiment’s competitive teams, including the Drill Team, Raider Unit, and Rifle Team were recognized for their outstanding performance.
“This is a special year for the Regiment,” LTC Roy Campbell (USA, Ret.) said. “Parents and guests were uniformly positive in their assessment of the evening’s events.”
