Seniors Consider College Acceptances

As the May 1 college decision deadline looms, Xavier seniors are considering acceptances at institutions across the world.

Those acceptances include Cornell University, Dartmouth College, Georgetown University, Boston College, Fordham University, the University of Michigan, the University of Notre Dame, Vanderbilt University, Villanova University, Williams College, the United States Merchant Marine Academy, the U.S. Naval Academy, West Point, and many more.

“As of today, 256 seniors have reported over 1,300 college acceptances, with close to $14,000,000 in academic scholarships,” said Joe Korfmacher, Coordinator of College Counseling. “Students have until May 1 to decide where they will attend in the fall, so many seniors are contemplating their choices at this very moment. The class of 2016 has been extremely successful in the college admissions process, and they have made Xavier High School very proud.”

“I will be attending Villanova in the fall,” said Zach Cilmi '16. “It was a difficult decision because I had a number of great schools to choose from. Ultimately Villanova was the right fit. Xavier helped me refine my goals for the future and choose the best college for me.”

Congratulations to the Class of 2016, who will graduate at Saint Patrick’s Cathedral on Thursday, June 9.
