Students Place at Jesuit Art Show
Four Xavier students recently took four places at the National Jesuit Art Show, 4 x 5. The unique show, which welcomes entries from students at the nation’s Jesuit high schools, takes its name from the required size of all entries—four inches by five inches.
Pasquale Tagliaferro ’17 won first-place honors in mixed media, while Anthony Cirelli ’16 earned an honorable mention in the same category. Jason Clare ’16 took home third place in drawing, with Robert Martinelli ’16 earning honorable mention in that category as well. Longtime Xavier art teacher Denise Iacovone said these honors meant even more this year given the huge number of entries the art show received.
All members of the Xavier community are invited to celebrate the arts on 16th Street at the Festival of the Arts, scheduled for May 20.
