Holy Cross Honors Dr. Richard O’Reilly ‘60

Xavier Hall of Famer and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center Pediatrics Chair Dr. Richard O'Reilly '60 will receive an honorary degree from his collegiate alma mater, the College of the Holy Cross, this May.

O’Reilly’s clinical expertise is in bone marrow transplantation and the treatment of children with congenital diseases. He was the first to conduct a successful bone marrow transplant involving an unrelated, compatible donor. This technique is now used successfully on well over 2,500 cancer patients annually.

The College of the Holy Cross Commencement ceremonies will take place on Friday, May 27, at 10:30 a.m. at the DCU Center in downtown Worcester.
