University of Virginia Profiles Professor Michael Suarez, S.J. '78
“I very much like the spirituality of finding God in all things, one of the hallmarks of the Jesuit order,” Rev. Michael Suarez, S.J. ’78, director of the University of Virginia’s Rare Book School, recently told UVA Today. He was part of a profile the daily report ran on Virginia faculty members who balance academic life with leadership roles in religious congregations.
Fr. Suarez also serves as a priest at the Church of the Holy Comforter in Charlottesville, Virginia. “Jesuits have traditionally been bridge builders between the intellectual life and the spiritual life,” he said.
