Faces of Xavier: Teddy Droseros '06
After several years in the business world, Teddy Droseros ’06 took a leap of faith into the unknown—and even though he is years removed from 16th Street, he credits the change to Xavier.
The Babson College business management graduate worked for a startup company for a few years after college, then took an accounting role at a hedge fund. “But about a year ago, I left to focus on health coaching,” he said. A former soccer standout at Xavier, Mr. Droseros pursued studies at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, motivated by Xavier’s call to form men for others as well as lessons he learned as an involved alumnus.
Mr. Droseros, who has traveled on CFX trips to Tennessee and Mexico as an alum, was inspired by the examples of service and simplicity he witnessed on those journeys. Now, in addition to his health coaching, he has turned a hobby into a way to encourage gratitude in others.
“I was just doing artwork for fun, and friends would say, ‘Can you make me one?’” he said. “Eventually I thought, ‘Why not make it into a gratitude journal?’ Gratitude is one of the main components of being truly happy.”

Journals featuring his cover art are now on sale at several locations in Astoria, where Mr. Droseros resides, and he has begun a Kickstarter campaign to garner support for his art on a wider level.
“I want to raise enough money to order a huge quantity of books,” he said. “With part of the profit, I'll support the fight against teenage obesity and education about processed foods. I also want to get started on my next project, creating eco-friendly tote bags.” (To read more about Mr. Droseros’ campaign, click here.)
“My goal now is just to share the transformation I made with other people,” he continued. “Being happy is really simple. You just have to focus on the good things.”
