Guidance Department to Host Viewing of Race to Nowhere

On October 15, Xavier’s Guidance Department will host a viewing of Race to Nowhere, the award-winning documentary that takes a critical look at the stress placed on American students.

The 85-minute documentary will be followed by a 30-minute discussion led by our guidance team. “We want to have an honest conversation with parents about the pressure placed on students to succeed,” said Jean Sherman, Director of Guidance. “Education should be joyful and inspiring, not a source of pressure and anxiety. Encouraging creativity, critical thinking, and a love of learning will be at the center of our discussion.”

Xavier’s presentation of Race to Nowhere will take place in the Jesuit Library at 6:30 p.m. on October 15. If you plan to attend, please register online by October 14. Questions? Please email Ms. Sherman at shermanj@xavierhs.org.
