Media Shine Spotlight on Xavier

As the first Jesuit Pope visits the United States for the first time, local and national media outlets have focused their attention on Xavier High School. On September 24, WCBS Newsradio 880, WABC 7, and the Latin Post reported live from Xavier's Pope Watch Party.

Before the papal visit, President Jack Raslowsky appeared on Voice of America’s Hashtag VOA program to talk about student reactions. A crew from PIX 11 News visited 16th Street to hear student perspectives about the historic event as well. PIX 11 hosted Xavier students, who provided commentary on the Pope's visit, on the channel's 5 p.m. broadcast during the week of the papal visit, and MSNBC.com featured digital content from Xavier President Jack Raslowsky, teacher and chaplain Rev. Ralph Rivera, S.J., and Director of Campus Ministry Kaija DeWitt.
