 Xavier Reception Series Hits Philadelphia

This past Tuesday, May 19, Xavier’s reception series was on the road in Philadelphia, PA. For many Xavier alumni and friends, it was a chance to experience the great energy and excitement that many continue to have for Xavier High School. Hosted by supporter COL Douglas LeVien, US Army '90, at the Union League Club of Philadelphia, the event was filled with excitement and enthusiasm for Xavier. Gerald Slattery '65, who recently celebrated his 50th reunion at Xavier this spring, noted fervently in his remarks, “Xavier was a life-changing place in my life. I attribute all the success and goodness in my life to what Xavier taught me. I am honored to be part of the Xavier tradition.”

Xavier President Jack Raslowsky offered a reflection on the mission and values of Xavier and provided insight into how Xavier has never been stronger in providing a true Jesuit education to all students and families. He was able update all those in attendance about the strides Xavier has made in athletics, JROTC and robotics, as well as offer details regarding the new building project on 15th Street. “Opportunity and excellence abound,” Mr. Raslowsky commented. “Xavier is and will always be a place that educates great young men, and our hope is to leave the same lasting legacy for many teachers, students, and families yet to come.”
