Potential Sons of Xavier Invited to Open House 

Sixth and seventh grade boys interested in Xavier High School are invited to attend our Winter Open House this Saturday, January 24, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Admitted students are also welcome to attend and take a final look at the many opportunities that await them on 16th Street, academically, athletically, artistically, and spiritually. Last week, the Admission Office mailed acceptance letters to members of the Class of 2019 after reviewing more than 1,000 applications.

The 300+ guests expected at Saturday’s event will receive personal tours from current Xavier students. “We break up our tour guides by boroughs and areas of the city, so they can speak from experience about things like commute, what time they get home from sports practices, and other items of interest that would apply to the potential incoming student,” said Mr. William Maloney ‘01, Associate Director of Admissions. “The boys do a very good job with the tours.”

After touring Xavier with their student guides, guests at Saturday’s Open House will learn about student activities in the cafeteria, then visit the gym to meet representatives from all academic departments, sports, and major school activities like JROTC, Band, and Campus Ministry.
