In Remembrance: Trevor Duffy ’13†

It is with a saddened heart that the Xavier community mourns the loss of Trevor Duffy†, a member of the class of 2013. As we cope with the loss of Trevor, please know that all at Xavier – counselors, administrators, teachers, and the wider community of family and friends - will continue to pray for Trevor, his family and all those affected by his passing. 

While studying at The State University of New York at Albany, Trevor was pursuing a double major in history and economics, with a minor in business. During his time with us at Xavier, Trevor was a dedicated student and was a member of the Ignatian Scholars Honors Program, receiving distinction as a College Board AP Scholar at Xavier’s Honors Assembly in his senior year. Trevor is remembered by his classmates as the kind of student who was committed to student life at Xavier, participating on the cross country team and within the JROTC as an underclassman, as well as sitting on the planning committee for Maroon and Blue (‘Spirit’) Day.

We ask the wider Xavier community to please remember Trevor, his family and his friends in your prayers over these difficult days ahead. 

Trevor’s wake is scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday, November 19 and 20, and his funeral on Friday, November 21, at St. Margaret of Cortona in Riverdale. Details for the wake and funeral can be found below.

Additionally, young alumni from the classes of 2012, 2013 and 2014 are invited to a liturgy in remembrance of Trevor on Wednesday, November 26 before the Turkey Bowl Rally and Young Alumni Reception at Xavier. This liturgy will be held in the Jesuit Community Library, and there will be an opportunity for young alumni to share their experiences and memories of Trevor at the liturgy.
