Xavier Regiment Marches in 2014 Columbus Day Parade

On October 13, spirits were high for the Xavier Regiment as they marched with aplomb in the 2014 New York City Columbus Day Parade. Cadets performed admirably among their various groups – X-Squad, Saber Guard, and others – and the Blue Knight Band provided musical accompaniment as the Regiment proudly represented Xavier.

Led by Cadet Colonel Kevin Moncrief ’15 and Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Witold Dziekan ’15, over 250 cadets marched in the parade, and as always, the Regiment exceeded the high expectations set by their own ranks, as well as by alumni watching the parade from throughout the country. In a congratulatory message to cadets, Lieutenant Colonel Roy Campbell (USA, Ret.) said, “From the superb saber drill of the Senior Staff Officers to the excellent synchronization of the Color Guard to the adroit leadership of Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Matthew Tortorelli ’15 and Cadet Major Christopher Penello ’15 leading the combined Battalion formation, the Regiment fired on all cylinders this afternoon.“

The Xavier Regiment will march again at the New York City Saint Patrick’s Day Parade on March 17, 2015.
