Students Recognized at Fall Honors Assembly
On Wednesday, October 8, the Xavier community came together for the fall Honors Assembly to recognize the achievements of students who achieved distinction during the spring of last year.
Dean of Academics Mr. Luciano Lovallo served as the emcee of the day, and after an opening prayer by Ms. Dee Kittany and opening remarks by Headmaster Mr. Michael LiVigni, Mr. LiVigni and President Mr. Jack Raslowsky presented students with their awards. Many students were presented with first and second honor cards, college book awards, foreign language awards, and awards for distinguished performance on AP exams and on the SAT.
The assembly concluded with speeches by two student leaders. Student Council President Hansen Han ’15 addressed the Xavier Community for the first time, officially recognized his officers, and laid out some of his plans for the forthcoming year. Cadet Colonel Kevin Moncrief ’15 followed with his own address, during which he commissioned the student officers of the JROTC.
Before we list off some of the awards received by students at the fall Honors Assembly, we would like to congratulate all Xavier students for their hard work during the school year, and wish the best of luck to those striving for honors for this and all upcoming marking periods.
