Ten Tips for an Ignatian Summer

Xavier is happy to share Matt Emerson’s 10 Tips for an Ignatian Summer, courtesy of America. Matt Emerson works at Xavier College Preparatory in Palm Desert, CA, where he teaches theology and directs admissions and development. His essays have appeared in a number of publications, including America, Commonweal, The Washington Post, First Things and Patheos.com. The Catholic Press Association named his September 2012 essay "Help Their Unbelief," published in America, as the "best essay" in the category of national general interest magazine for 2012.

Matt studied philosophy at Saint Louis University (BA, 2004) and attended law school at the University of Notre Dame (J.D., 2008), where, in addition to legal studies, he took graduate coursework in Catholic moral theology, healthcare ethics and bioethics.
