30th Annual Golf Outing Presented by Paul J. Scariano, Inc.

For 30 years now friends, family and alums of Xavier High School have joined in on a fun, yet sometimes competitive, game of golf. The Annual Golf Outing has always been a hallmark Xavier event, and this year’s, presented by Paul J. Scariano, Inc., did not disappoint in the least.

Golfers took to Port Washington’s North Hempstead Country Club for 18 holes and a chance to catch up with old friends and make new ones. With brunch, barbecue, a cocktail hour and delicious dinner all included on the day, even those stuck in bunkers on the course had reason to celebrate.

During dinner the Rev. William J. McGowan, S.J. Spirit Award was presented to two Xavier basketball players who have scored more than 1,000 points in their high school careers. Both Ed Gooding ’78 and Kevin Crockett ’14 received the award, the latter’s points lifting the Knights to the team’s first CHSAA city championship since 2000 this past season.

The event was sponsored in a variety of ways by many different organizations, including Paul J. Scariano, Inc. (Paul Scariano '90) Metropolitan Commercial Bank (Mark DeFazio P'14), Hatzel & Buehler, Inc (Paul Angerame '78)., Premier Printing and Badge Agency, Inc. Many individuals and companies sponsored tees and Jesuit/faculty golfers, while Tower Ford sponsored the hole-in-one car on the 17th hole and a number of other hole-in-one prizes.

Gil Cosenza '81 won the 2015 Masters Raffle, which includes $500 for travel to Augusta, G.A. and VIP passes for one day at the 2015 Masters Tournament

A great time was had by all. The 31st Annual Outing will be held at Knickerbocker Country Club in Tenafly, NJ on Tuesday, June 16, 2015.
