Cristo Rey Garners National Attention

The Cristo Rey Network continues to garner national attention for their work in providing an innovative, college-prep education for poor, inner-city students who would have very limited educational options without Cristo Rey. The first Cristo Rey was founded by the Chicago Province Jesuits in 1996 and in September there will be 26 network schools across the country. On Wednesday, Cristo Rey Detroit was featured on National Public Radio - you can hear the story here. On Thursday, the first Cristo Rey School, Cristo Rey Chicago was featured on the CBS Morning Show, which you can watch here. As readers of the eNews and Xavier magazine know, Xavier has a long connection to the network primarily through Cristo Rey New York High School, located at 106th St. off Lexington Avenue. CRNYHS was featured in the E-News as well as the Xavier magazine.
