Mr. Claus Pramer P'14 '17 Speaks to the Entrepreneurial Society
On Friday, May 2nd, Mr. Claus Pramer, P '14 '17, spoke to the Entrepreneurial Society about his work in the field of commodities. Mr. Pramer currently works as the Head of South American Commodities and Derivatives Trading for Bank of America, and he will soon be leaving the bank to begin work at a new hedge fund.
Mr. Pramer spoke about his career path which began while he was an engineering student at Boston University. Mr. Pramer suggested that majoring in mathematics or engineering would prepare students well for the quantitative, analytical work that today's businesses demand of college grads.
After briefly discussing the nature of his work in commodities and derivatives, Mr. Pramer offered very practical insight on resumes and interviewing. Having served on various hiring committees, Mr. Pramer encouraged students to learn about the companies for which they want to work, to read the Wall Street Journal regularly and become an expert on a topic of the students' choosing, and to present themselves with great professionalism and attention to detail in both writing and in person.
The Entrepreneurial Society continues to seek guest speakers in the business world. If you would be interested in being a part of the Society, please email moderator Mr. Michael Mule '04 at
