After championship-winning seasons from both the varsity hockey and basketball teams, their head coaches have each been named Coach of the Year. Varsity basketball head coach Joe McGrane was named so by the NYC Mayor's Cup and was chosen to coach the Mayor's Cup CHSAA All-Star team, which defeated the PSAL all-stars 108-86 to end the varsity basketball season in New York.

Varsity hockey head Coach Al Dimauro was chosen as the CHSHL Coach of the Year by MSGVarsity, who said, "DiMauro guided the Knights to the best record during the regular season with a team that scored more goals (122) than anyone else. DiMauro made sure Xavier didn’t lose focus in the playoffs, beating Stepinac in three games in the semifinals and sweeping St. Edmund Prep in the finals for the program’s first ‘B’ crown."
