Department Goals
·        To have the students write effectively and think critically

·        To help the students develop a variety of writing skills (expository, persuasive, analytic, etc.)

·        To encourage creativity in student writing

·        To enable the students to converse effectively

·        To extend the students’ knowledge, understanding, and appreciation of the various aspects of literature

·        To enable and encourage the students to read for enjoyment

·        To develop the students’ cultural literacy, to increase their awareness of our literary tradition, and to help them understand the relationship between literature and life
